Write More! Sell More! Team with a Virtual ... - Book Marketing Alliance

?It crossed my mind why it is so important for authors to have people like you. I believe those who publish the traditional way have all this done behind the scenes so they don?t see it. Yet for people like me, who are now going the unconventional way, we have a lot to learn about this business and I honestly believe that is why we may not get to the level that we expect with our book.

Had we not crossed paths?none of?this would ever have crossed my mind or maybe I would have never thought about doing it. How can we get more of that information out to other self published author is my question???Giftus R John, Author

I had been working for some time with Author, Giftus R John on promoting and creating a brand for his book Ma William and Her Circle of Friends. That morning I awoke to find an email expressing the above sentiments in my Inbox. It was what he later called his ?Aha Moment!? You can well imagine how rewarded I felt, that I had been able to make the difference in this author?s journey.

Are you considering partnering with a virtual assistant, and are you unsure about how a virtual assistant can help you write more and sell more? I know. It is your book, and you are not ready to let it go! However, a VA who is trained to team with authors understands that it is your book; your message. The idea is to partner with you to get your message and brand out there, to help you get noticed and increase your sales. Can you do it all, and write more?

Here are seven activities which you might wish to consider outsourcing, either in whole or in part, to a virtual assistant to give you more time for writing and increase your sales. As you go through this list, consider the time it takes you to complete each of the activities and whether it is a task that you need to do yourself, want to do yourself, or can be delegated. Also consider the value that a VA would add to the process:

  1. General support. While you may need a copy editor to edit your manuscript professionally, there are VA?s who are ably qualified to assist with proofreading your manuscript. This will reduce the time spent in, and the cost of copy editing. And, yes, there are VA?s who are copy editors, too.
  2. Blog Creation. You could spend some time learning WordPress and all the nuances of building a blog. However, consider the learning curve! How long is it going to take you to learn WP and then create the blog? What is the opportunity cost of that time? A trained VA will have your branded blog up and running in a short space of time. Your VA may also assist with setting up your auto-responder and equip you with the necessary skills that would allow you to maintain your blog in the long term.
  3. Book Trailers. Using the technology a VA can help you to create an amazing book trailer. Your VA may also be able to assist with setting up a YouTube channel and posting the trailer to your site.
  4. Virtual Book Tours. The new way to get around! A virtual book tour will take you and your book to exciting stops where you can share your message. The key here is to select tour stops which are good for your book promotion; and to organize the event efficiently, so that it runs smoothly. Your VA will help you identify the tour stops and can assist with contacting and following up with hosts, creating banners for the tour, and other aspects of the tour.
  5. Media Relations. Need media coverage for your book launch or virtual book tour? VA to your rescue! There are virtual assistants who have experience in crafting Press Releases and can prepare a professional Press Release for you. The VA should also be able to identify sites which will give you maximum publicity.
  6. Social Media Support. One of the keys to online book marketing is social media networking. As you well know, this can be time-consuming, using up valuable time which could be used for writing. Whether it is setting up or maintaining your social media accounts and networks including Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, GoodReads and Amazon Author Central, a virtual assistant will readily team with you to achieve your goals.
  7. Organizing Virtual Events and Interviews. Part of book promotion is sharing your message with a variety of audiences. A virtual assistant can work with you in coordinating your online speaking events, and help you to build that part of your information empire. Need to schedule and record interviews, and then edit and transcribe the audios? What about re-purposing your original content to other uses? That too can be outsourced to a VA.

Have you been doing all of this and more, single-handedly? Then it is no wonder that you have not found the time to write again.

A savvy, professional virtual assistant will help you regain your focus and increase your sales. Generally, virtual assistants have wide support networks, and will most likely be able to help you to identify someone if they cannot handle a particular task. Finally, most VA?s pursue continuous personal development to equip them to meet their clients? needs! So, seize the opportunity! Write More! Sell More! Team with a virtual assistant today.
