ISLAMABAD June 02: Minister for Finance Saturday said more income groups are being brought into tax net and the government has secured appreciable progress in this regard. Replying to a question during the post-budget press conference, the minister said, ?lot of work in this sector is being done and you will see the results in coming days.? Supplementing the minister, Chairman FBR Mumtaz Haider Rizvi informed media that 563,000 people who were not paying taxes earlier have been identified. ?Among them, 83,000 have filed tax returns out of which 40,000 have been finalized.?
