HAVERHILL, Mass. ? A Groveland police officer has tied the world record for the highest single-string score in candlepin bowling history. Chris Sargent of Haverhill bowled a 245 last Friday at the Metro Bowl Lanes in Peabody.? The 40-year-old Sargent told The Eagle-Tribune he was ?in a zone and feeling good? but didn?t realize he was nearing the record until the end of the string because he doesn?t like looking at his score. He said he realized he was getting close when the other team started cheering him on and a crowd gathered around his lane.? The record was set in 1984 by Ralph Semb of Erving.? Semb, now president of the International Candlepin Bowling Association, told The Associated Press on Wednesday the organization has accepted the record and thinks ?it?s great.?
First of all how does the guy with the all time Candlepin record become president of the league? ?Is that like a rule? ? And do you even think he wanted to be president? ? He was probably like ?Just buy me a beer bro, I don?t want to be president.? ? ?I mean imagine if Kareem became the commissioner of the NBA as soon as he broke the scoring record? ?Although that wouldn?t have been the worst thing in the world. ? But more importantly, this guy has got to be completely full of shit when he says he ?thinks it?s great? somebody tied his world record. ? Thinks it?s great? ? Yeah right! ?You?re telling me you have the all time Candlepin record since 1984 and some 40 year old hot shot who didn?t even know he was bowling for history comes along and ties it, and you think it?s great? ?Please. ?At least be honest and say what you really feel, ?I wish he fell on his fat fucking face in the 12th?frame?. ? I mean you hate the guy?s guts more than life itself. ? ?Thinks it?s great? means Ralph Semb is on suicide alert somewhere in Massachusetts ripping butts on some street corner blaring ?Glory Days? from a boombox and telling anybody in a pair of Zubaz pants and pulse about the 246 he rolled piss drunk on a Monday night back in 1984. ? All due respect, it?s probably a heck of a tale.
