Mother?s Day on Sunday should have been a joyous occasion for Kelly Brook, but it ended up anything but.
The British model and actress, 31, suffered a miscarriage after being rushed to the hospital late last week, the Daily Mail reported.
Brook, perhaps best known in the U.S. for her role in 2010?s ?Piranha 3D,? had announced in March that she and boyfriend Thom Evans were expecting their first child together, ?a baby girl.?
?I can confirm that Kelly and Thom have very sadly lost their baby,? her rep told the Daily Mail. ?They request that everyone please respects their privacy at this very painful time.?
Brook was five months pregnant.
She began dating 26-year-old Evans, a former rugby player, in December.
After announcing her pregnancy, she admitted that it was unplanned but welcomed.
?That is what happens when you are in love,? she reportedly said. ?You surrender to whatever is to be. It wasn?t a plan, but if it happened, it happened.?
And now, ?Kelly is understandably devastated,? a source told the London paper.
Although ?she?s at home and she?s being looked after by Thom and her mum Sandra ? there?s nothing you can say to anyone at a time like this.?
?She just needs to be allowed some time alone to grieve,? the source added.
